Watching an Objective or a Key Results

Learn how to subscribe to updates and edits to Objectives and Key Results

Overview

By watching an Objective or a Key Result, users can receive updates and edit notifications and emails for the respective entity that they have started watching. Users can also assign other people as watchers.

Prerequisites

Watching OKRs is available on the Enterprise plan only.

How to

  1. Watch an Objective

a. If you want to watch an Objective you need to open the Objective side modal and click on the eye icon on the top right corner.

b. A modal will show where you need to enable the toggle.

c. If you want to stop watching an Objective you need to open the Objective side modal and click on the eye icon in the top right corner. A modal will show where you need to disable the toggle.

2. Watch a Key Result

a. If you want to watch a Key Result you need to open the Objective side modal and click on the eye icon on the top right corner.

b. A modal will show where you need to enable the toggle.

c. If you want to stop watching a Key Result you need to disable the toggle.

3. Add Watchers

a. If you want to add or remove watchers for an Objective or Key Result you need to click on the eye icon in the respective side modal.

b. Once the modal is shown you would need to enter the name of the user you want to add in the “Add watchers” input field.

c. Click on the avatar of the person you want to add as a watcher.

d. To remove them click on the X symbol next to their name in the list of watchers.

4. Filter by a Watcher

a. To see which Objectives and/or Key Results you are watching you need to navifate to the OKR’s tab on the left-hand navigation and open the Sessions view.

b. Then you need to open the Filters menu and click on the Add Filter button. From the drop-down menu you need to select the OKRs watched by option.

Limitations

  • If a user starts watching an Objective, he will not receive notifications for updates and edits of the Key Results within the Objective. If the user wants to receive updates for those Key Results, he needs to click on the Watch KR button for each one of them.

  • Only individual users can be added as watchers to an Objective or Key Result. Teams cannot be assigned as watchers.

  • If a user owns an Objective or a Key Result, or is part of a team that owns it, watching is disabled for him.

  • View-only users can watch an Objective or a Key Result, but they cannot add others as watchers.
