A KPI overview provides a comprehensive view of your KPI performance, including who is responsible, current progress, benchmark, forecast, and KPI performance over time. The drawer also includes leading and lagging indicators, as well as impacting items, which are Objectives and Key Results that have the greatest influence on your KPI. By using this information, you can make data-driven decisions about how to improve your KPI performance.

Above the KPI overview drawer is the title of the KPI, the description, and an avatar with the owner. Below you can find the following information:

  • Current progress with progress change delta

  • Benchmark, which is the standard for similar businesses within the industry. It considers specifics about the company to identify the most relevant number.

  • Forecast showing the expected KPI progress at the end of the selected session

  • 3 Month Avg expressing the average value over the last 90 days

What are Leading Indicators?

Leading indicators are metrics that can help you predict future performance. They are called "leading" because they tend to change before the overall trend in your business. For example, if you run an e-commerce store, your website traffic might be a leading indicator of your sales. If you see a spike in traffic, you can predict that your sales will also increase in the near future.

Each row in the table shows you the name of the KPI, the assigned owner, current progress, and progress delta since the last update. You can also click on each KPI to see its performance overview. Hovering over the owner shows you their name, while hovering over the current progress shows the exact number.

What are Lagging Indicators?

Lagging indicators, on the other hand, are metrics that reflect past performance. They are called "lagging" because they tend to change after the overall trend in your business. For example, your sales revenue is a lagging indicator because it reflects the sales that have already been made.

Each row in the table shows you the name of the KPI, the assigned owner, current progress, and progress delta since the last update. You can also click on each KPI to see their performance overview. Hovering over the owner, shows you their name, while hovering over the current progress, visualizes the exact number.

How to Use Leading and Lagging Indicators?

By tracking both leading and lagging indicators, you can get a more complete picture of your business performance. Leading indicators can help you identify potential problems or opportunities before they become apparent in your lagging indicators. Lagging indicators, on the other hand, can help you measure the success of your past decisions and identify areas for improvement.

What are Impacting items?

Impacting items are Objectives and Key Results that have the greatest influence on your KPI. Our AI analyzes your data to identify which items are most closely correlated with changes in your KPI. By focusing on them, you can make data-driven decisions about how to improve your KPI performance.

For example, let's say that your KPI is website conversion rate, and one of the impacting items is "increase website traffic." This suggests that increasing your website traffic is likely to have a positive impact on your conversion rate. You can use this information to develop a strategy for driving more traffic to your website, such as investing in SEO or social media advertising.

It's important to note that impacting items are not necessarily the same as causation. While our AI can identify correlations between Objectives/Key Results and KPIs, it cannot definitively prove causation. However, by focusing on the Objectives and Key Results that are most closely correlated with your KPI, you can make informed decisions about how to improve your performance.

Each row shows you the name of the item, the assigned owner, current progress, and progress delta since the last update. Each row is clickable and leads to the respective Objective or Key Result within Quantive Results.
