VIDEO SUMMARY

Ownership of Objectives and Key Results

This setting is important for how your organization is going to roll out ownership. Are you wanting organization-level OKRs, department-level OKRs, or individual OKRs? These settings dictate how your OKRs are structured and how users interact in the instance. We recommend enabling Organization and Department OKRs.

Number of Objectives per User

This setting will define limitations on how many OKRs an individual can own. We recommend limiting it to 1-3 OKRs.

Number of Key Results per Objectives

This setting will define limitations on how many Key Results you can have for each Objective. We recommend limiting it to 1-3 KRs.

Reports and Notifications

  • OKR update reminders: This setting defines your organization's preferred frequency for when our automated “Time to Update Your OKRs” email will be sent to users. We recommend bi-weekly if your cadence is not already set.

  • Account Notifications: This setting defines the default notification settings for all users for KR progress updates, OKR edits, tasks assignment, etc. It allows admins to choose how notifications are sent to users. This is the default; users have the ability to change their personal settings. We recommend all notifications for Quantive inbox; and email notifications for Progress Updates and OKR Edits.

Progress Aggregation of OKRs

This setting will define how OKR progress is calculated. When turned “On” in an instance, the Alignment Tree will populate with a percentage for each parent OKR based on the progress of their child OKRs. We recommend leaving this OFF as it can be confusing at first to differentiate between OKR Progress and Progress Aggregation.

Cap Key Result Progress

When the setting is activated the progress of all key results in the account will be limited between 0% and 100%. For example, if the value of the key result goes above the target number, the key result progress will show 100% and if the value of the key result goes below the initial number, the key result progress will show 0%. The limitation of the key results will subsequently cap the progress of the objectives between 0% and 100%. When the key results reach 100% or 0% you would still be able to update their values, but their progress would be capped. The setting is applied to all existing and newly created key results in the account. When the setting is deactivated the progress of all key results in the account will return to their uncapped values. We recommend leaving this OFF unless your OKR organization policy requires OKRs not to exceed 100% or fall below 0%.

Session level Management

When creating and editing a Session, you can control some of the Methodology settings for each specific session. This is in case you want to have a slightly different methodology for different sessions.

The default global account settings are shown and then you can over-ride them for a specific session. The following methodologies can be controlled at a Session level

  • Who can own OKRs

  • Who can own KRs

  • Shared OKRs

  • Progress aggregation visualization

  • Limit OKR per user

  • Limit KRs per objective.
