Create codeless insights

Learn how to create an insight without using SQL code

Overview

Quantive Results enables you to build advanced insights on the Quantive Results data sources or data sources that you have connected to your Quantive Results account.

You can do that using the Quantive Results UI.


Create the insight

Perform the following:

  1. In the navigation pane click Insightboards.

  2. In the toolbar, click Manage insights.

  3. Click on Add new insight then select Create insight.

  4. Enter a Title and Description of your insight and check the Use codeless editor option.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Click the first dropdown box and select the query operation.
    Select between: Total count of, Sum total of, Average of, Minimum of, and Maximum of.

  7. Click the second dropdown box and click Select from list.

    All connected data sources and Apps appear.

  8. Expand the data source and select an entity, from where you want to pull data from.

  9. Add a query condition by clicking the + button.

  10. In the Field to filter by dropdown box, select the field that you want to use for filtering the query results.

  11. Select the logical operator.
    Select between: equals to, is not equal to, contains, does not contain, is shorter than, is longer than.

  12. In the last dropdown box, click Select from list.

  13. Select the value of the field that you want to use as a filter criterion and click Apply selection. You can select more than one value.

  14. Add as many filter criteria as you want.

  15. When finished, click Execute. The result of your query appears.

  16. To customize the format of the insight, click Formatting options.

  17. Customize the format and click Save.

  18. To create the insight, in the toolbar, click Save and leave.


Add the insight to an Insightboard

Perform the following:

  1. In the navigation pane click Insightboards.

  2. Click the Insightboard where you want to add the created insight.

  3. In the upper-right corner Click Add then select Insight.

  4. Select the insight or insights and click Add insights.

  5. In the toolbar, click Save changes.
