Google Spreadsheets is a Web-based application that allows users to create, update and modify spreadsheets and share the data live online. The Ajax-based program is compatible with Microsoft Excel and CSV (comma-separated values) files.

How to connect

  • In Quantive, navigate to Settings > Data Sources screen

  • Click the Select data source button

  • From the Choose a connector dialog, select the Files tab and then Google Spreadsheet

Give a name for the connection:

Once you grant the necessary permissions to read data from your Google account you will asked to define who will be eligible to administrate the connection in Quantive:

Next you will be able to choose the spreadsheet you want to pull data from:

Note that when you select the spreadsheet you will be presented with a list of sheets inside the spreadsheet to choose from as your data source.

Select the entity you want. Then choose its sync schedule:

Finally define permissions who will be able to see and use the information in this entity to create insights and automate KRs and KPIs:

Troubleshooting

Authorization failure: HTTP protocol error. 401 Unauthorized. Invalid Credentials :
If you encounter such an error when you attempt to sync a data source it is most probably due to the fact that you have added multiple connections for the same Google Spread Sheet account. Google provides an access token refresh mechanism only for one connection per application. Therefore any subsequently added connection will work for a brief period of time. To ensure the proper synchronization of your data - create all data sources using the initial connection that was added to your Quantive Results account. If you do not know which of your connections is the initial one you can remove Quantive Results  access to your Google account like this:

  1. Click on "Security" section in your Google Account and on "Manage third-party access"

If this is not an option you can contact our support team for instructions how to revoke previous connections.
