Prerequisites
Before you begin, you need the following:
An existing Viva Goals account and a user with access to all content in the account.
An existing Quantive StrategyAI account that you want to migrate your data to. If you don't have one, you can create a trial in less than a minute from here.

Migrating your Viva Goals data
Starting the migration
Follow these steps to initiate your data migration:
Log in to your Viva Goals account. Make sure you're logged in as a user that has access to all data in the account.
Once you log in, from your browser extensions menu open the Viva Goals Migration browser extension. This will load the Migrate to Quantive button in the top right corner of your page:
Your email address will be automatically resolved based on your Viva Goals user email address. The plugin checks for an existing Quantive StrategyAI account with this email. If one exists, it will be listed in the Destination field
If an account with the given email does not exist, a new one will be automatically created for you during the migration. If you have an existing Quantive StrategyAI account with a different email address, please type it in the input field and click on Refresh.
Finally, click on the Migrate to Quantive button to proceed. As a result you'll be redirected to your Quantive StrategyAI account login page. Upon successful login you will see the Viva Goals to Quantive migration section with your Viva Goals account details pre-populated.
Follow the steps below to proceed with the migration of your data.
NOTE: If you're not redirected to the Viva Goals to Quantive migration section of your account after login, manually navigate to Settings -> Data Migration -> Viva Goals

Migrating your users and teams
Upon successful configuration of the Viva Goals to Quantive migration tool, you will begin your migration process.
Migrate users
The first step is to migrate your users. Follow the steps below:
Click on the Load Users button.
This will load all existing users from your Viva Goals account. If you already have users with the same email in your Quantive account, they will be matched. Only the users who do not exist will be listed an you can select which users you want to migrate. By default all users are selected.
NOTE: All users who own Goals and Metrics in Viva Goals must be selected for migration. If you deselect a user their Goals and Metrics will not be migrated.
Click on the Continue button at the bottom
On the next step click on the Start Migration button to migrate the selected users. Once the migration is complete you will see a confirmation message about the successful creation of the users in Quantive.
Migrate teams
Once you migrate your users you'll be able to replicate the org structure you have in Viva Goals to your Quantive account. Follow the steps below:
Click on the Continue to Teams Migration button
On the next screen, click on Load Teams. This will load all existing teams from your Viva Goals account. You can select which teams you'd like to migrate. By default all teams are selected.

Migrate your Goals data
The final step to migrating you Viva Goals account data is to migrate the existing Goals and Metrics in your Quantive StrategyAI account. Follow these steps:
Begin by clicking on the Load Goals button
You will be presented with a summary of your Viva Goals time periods. In Quantive, time periods are represented as planning sessions, so you will be asked to map your existing Viva Goals time periods to Quantive sessions.
By default the Viva Goals to Quantive migration tool will automatically create and map all time periods to Quantive sessions. You can change the mapping by selecting a different session that exists in your Quantive account, or change the title of the new session that will be created.
Once ready, click on the Continue button
On the next screen click on Start Migration. This will create the sessions and migrate all goals and metrics accordingly. Once everything has been successfully migrated, you will be presented with a confirmation message about the completion of the migration.
You have now successfully migrated your Viva Goals account data. Navigate to your Quantive StrategyAI account to continue your work.
Incremental migrations and limitations
Incremental migrations
The Viva Goals to Quantive migration tool enables you to migrate your Viva Goals data incrementally. If new users, teams or goals and metrics have been created since the last migration, you can always repeat the steps in this article to migrate your new data to your Quantive account.
If an error occurs during any of the steps in the migration process, you will be presented with a summary of the error. You can resolve the issues and retry migrating the information. It will be incrementally added to the data that you have already successfully migrated.
Limitations
Incremental updates
While Incremental migrations are supported, the Viva Goals to Quantive migration tool can only detect data that does not already exist (matched by email for users, by name for Teams, and by title and time period for goals and metrics) in your Quantive account. If you need to selectively migrate an item again, delete it from Quantive and retry migrating it by following the step sin this article.
Goals with progress
In Quantive StrategyAI, objectives progress is always calculated as the average of its children. For more information read here. Setting the objective progress directly is not supported. Viva Goals goals that had their progress set directly will be migrated successfully to Quantive but their progress will be calculated as the average of their children.
Metrics without goal
In Quantive StrategyAI, metrics should always have a parent objective. Viva goals metrics, that have been created as standalone metrics (not supporting a goal) will be successfully migrated to Quantive, but will be converted to an objective.
Reverse alignment
In Quantive StrategyAI, you can align objectives from a child session to support objectives in a parent session. The classic example is quarterly objectives which support annual ones. Reverse alignment (objective from a session in the past supporting an objective in the future) is not supported. For such scenarios users can clone an objective in the future session. Viva goals goals that support a session in the past cannot be migrated. You must fix the alignment in Viva Goals prior to migrating such goals.
